An umbrella event encompassing the trademark HFS stream fests- Aphelion, Mindscape and ComCon, Astra provides students from all streams a chance to discover, engage and learn the joys of the pursuit of knowledge itself.

Welcome to HFS Powai’s STEM fest! A celebration of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians, HFS Aphelion aims to foster a deep awe for our scientific legacy. With science-based events that spark discussion, debate, and understanding, HFS Aphelion looks forward to hosting you from the 26th to 28th of October, 2021!

Aphelion, in astronomy, is the point in the orbit of a planet, comet, or other celestial body that is at its furthest from the sun. Taking inspiration from this term, our logo has been ingenuously designed, retaining its simplicity. The letter ‘A’ appears to be the rays of the sun with our school logo occupying its scorching center. An orange curve encircling the word represents the orbit of the earth around the sun, with ‘O’ as the earth revolving in it.

Our event aims to inculcate, in the minds of young students, a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking and to provide a platform for exchanging thoughts. The objective is simple- to give students an opportunity to excel beyond academics. An opportunity not just enjoyed by budding scientists, mathematicians and engineers but also from a more interdisciplinary perspective to those who are enthusiastic to learn, gain knowledge, and enjoy!

- HFS Aphelion will not tolerate any kind of incidents of discrimination or harassment based on an individual’s gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, etc. If any individual feels that they encountered such an incident, they are to bring it to the attention of a member of the Organising Committee. HFS Aphelion reserves the right to issue a verbal reprimand, or suspend/expel; the participant from the event, or take any other action deemed necessary.
